Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and GatoCare when you use our app. By using GatoCare, you agree to them.

GatoCare is not veterinary advice. GatoCare helps you track and organize your cat's care. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional veterinary care. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical decisions about your cat, and seek immediate care in an emergency.

1. The service

GatoCare lets you track your cats' health and daily care. A free tier works on a single device with local storage. Paid features ("GatoCare Plus") add cloud sync across devices, family sharing, unlimited cats, unlimited photos and documents, and backup.

2. Your account

You can use the free tier without an account. To use cloud features you create an account and are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and let us know of any unauthorized use.

3. Subscriptions & billing

GatoCare's paid plans (Personal and Family) are offered as auto-renewing subscriptions. The current price and billing period are shown in the app and on the App Store or Google Play before you buy, and may vary by region.
New users may be offered a free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription automatically renews at the price shown.
Purchases are made through the Apple App Store (on iOS) or Google Play (on Android) and are processed by Apple or Google. Your purchase is also subject to the App Store's or Google Play's terms, and any applicable taxes are handled by them.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled.
You can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID / App Store settings (on iOS) or your Google Play subscriptions (on Android). When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current billing period.

4. Refunds

Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, so refunds are handled according to Apple's or Google's refund policies. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at [email protected] and we'll help where we can, though refunds are ultimately processed by the App Store or Google Play.

5. What happens if your subscription ends

If your subscription lapses, your data is never deleted as a result. Your cloud records remain available to view and export; they simply stop syncing and updating until you resubscribe. We believe you should never be locked out of your own pet's records.

6. Your data and content

Your cats and their records are yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store and sync that content so the app can work for you and the household members you share with. You can export or delete your data at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

7. Acceptable use

Please don't misuse GatoCare, for example, don't attempt to break or overload the service, access other people's data, or use it for anything unlawful.

8. Availability

We work to keep GatoCare running well, but the service is provided "as is" and we can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may update, change, or discontinue features over time.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GatoCare is provided without warranties of any kind, and GatoCare will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Remember that GatoCare is a tracking tool, not a source of veterinary or medical advice.

10. Termination

You may stop using GatoCare at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are violated. You can delete your account whenever you like.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use GatoCare after changes means you accept them.

13. Third-party assets

Some in-app icons are from the Noto Emoji project by Google, used under the Apache License, Version 2.0. No endorsement by Google is implied.
